All Longarm quilting services are completed on our Gammill Statler Stitcher machine. The Statler offers state of the art stitch and design precision. We offer a wide selection of quilting patterns and designs. The goal of our trained staff is to help you turn your quilt top into a treasured heirloom. To view our brochure click here.

Quilting Turnaround Schedule

GUARANTEED CHRISTMAS DELIVERY DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 14 FOR ALL EDGE TO EDGE QUILTING

Edge to Edge – Goal is 2 Weeks or less

Custom – 1-3 months

* Turnaround time can vary and be dependent on holidays, vacation, and sickness of staff. If you have questions or have a deadline, please speak to the longarm staff.

Quilting Options

Basting

Basting allows hand quilters or home machine quilters to have us put the layers of their quilt together for them. Large stitches are easy to remove once the quilt is complete.

Edge to Edge

Edge to edge designs span the length and width of the quilt
Edge to edge designs will be repeated in rows to produce an allover design on the quilt top

This edge to edge method of longarm machine quilting is popular due to the lower cost. There are many designs to choose from.

Combo

Combo is an edge to edge interior with the outer border customized.

Custom

Custom designs are specifically designed for your individual quilt. Separate designs may be used for blocks, borders and sashing.

Quilt Preparation

Check to be sure all seams are secure.
If your quilt does NOT have an outside border please stay-stitch around your quilt within 1/4″ to ensure seams do not pull apart when quilted.
Your quilt back must be 4″ longer than your quilt top on all sides.
If your quilt is directional, please pin a note to mark the top of the quilt.
Remove all buttons or other embellishments.
Press the quilt top and backing. Fold and hang on a hanger when you bring your quilt in.
Quilt top and backing must be brought in as separate layers, not already sandwiched together.
We reserve the right to refuse unfamiliar backing fabrics such as sheets or decorator fabrics.
Fullness/puckers within a quilt and its borders cannot be quilted out. If your quilt is not square and has fullness and/or puckers we cannot guarantee that tucks will not be sewn in. Excessive fullness in borders may result in the quilt corners not being squared.

Quilt Check-In Procedure

Normal operating hours for Living Threads are Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 4 pm.
*Living Threads is located within City on a Hill. Please park on the west side of the building along Taft Street. Come to the door located in the center of the building (you’ll see a large Living Threads window decal on the foyer window).
*If you are not feeling well, please wait to come in until you are feeling good again.

Longarm Quilting Pricing

Pricing is effective June 1, 2024 and is subject to change without notice.

The price of quilting your quilt is determined by the square inch. For example, if your quilt measures 50″ x 70″ then your quilt is 3,500 square inches. If you choose an edge to edge design that is $.020/psi, your quilting cost will be $70.

Basting starting @ $ .015 per square inch (psi)
Edge-2-edge @ $.020 – $.025/psi (depending on pattern)
Edge-2-edge with cutouts @ $.030/psi or $10/cutout TBD by LT.
Combo – $.030 – .035/psi
Custom – $.04 – .05/psi

MINIMUM FEE: $50.00

Dream Battings Available Through Living Threads

Our battings are sold by the linear inch (that way you only pay for what you need).

80/20 Cotton Poly Natural: $.31/linear inch
80/20 Cotton-Poly Bleached: $.33/linear inch
100% Wool: $.53/linear inch

Trim and Square: $.05 per linear inch

Binding:

Cut, stitch & press binding strips from your provided fabric: $.075 per linear inch
Attach binding to your quilt top: $.15 per linear inch
Machine stitch binding to your quilt top: $.15 per linear inch
Complete/hand stitch binding to your quilt: $.25 per linear inch
